Remarks

The participlants not only shared how they observed the changing colours of the season with details but also explored the connections between colour and life growth.

I took photos on the forests and lakes, fascinated by how time and nature shape the landscapes. I also linked the symbolism of colors in novels to the emotions of characters, showing how colour can describe someone’s moral beliefs, actions, and dreams.

Others described the transformation of the oil sands in Alberta, which were once clear, expressing concern for the environment. We discussed whether restoration might still be possible.

Some also noticed the quick pace of construction sites before winter’s arrival and talked about how the rhythm of life reflects the change of seasons from summer to winter.

One student said that gold brings hope and gray brings balance. “Autumn taught me that I don’t always have to be the brightest one,” she shared. “Growing quietly and firmly is also a kind of strength.”

Another student gave meaning to every color she saw and remarked, “Change can be beautiful,” showing that every ending hides a new, fresher beginning.

This is the very essence of where reading meets life, which is to perceive what happens around you more deeply, and to let your thoughts and emotions shine brighter.
