During the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska on May 3, 2025, Warren Buffett shared timeliess advice to young people:
“Who you associate with is just enormously important. Don’t expect that you’ll make every decision right on that, but you are going to have your life progress in the general direction of the people that you work with, that you admire, that become your friends…You want to hang out with people that are better than you are and that you feel are better than you are because you’re going to go in the direction of the people you associate with.”

Remarks
The club members showcased an impressive depth of thought. They not only hope that their life mentors are knowledgable, but also kind and approachable. In their eyes, an ideal mentor should have a positive mindset, along with the passion and ability to inspire others – offering emotional support, joy, and a boost in confidence.
What especialy surprised the audience was that they did not expect their mentos to be “perfect”. This reveals a mature and thoughtful understanding of what it means to be a role model. They recognize that a true role model is not someone without flaws, but someone who shines through their authenticity and imperfecttions – just like real life: beautiful and genuine.
