In recognition of International Workers’ Day, and in response to the environmental initiative led by a Richmond Hill Councillor and the Province of Ontario, the York Region Caring Lions Club and the A2ZLiteracy Reading and Writing Club coorganized a community clean-up event at Meander Community Park in Richmond Hill.
Despite light snowfall in the early morning, volunteers demonstrated strong commitment and enthusiasm. Their efforts helped restore the environment of the park and brought a sense of positivity despite the chill of early spring. Throughout the event, residents who were walking through or passing by the park expressed appreciation for the volunteers.
Both organizations remain committed to promoting community engagement, youth development, and environmental responsibility. Through continued collaboration, they look forward to organizing more initiatives that contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more connected community.
