September 13, 2025
On September 13, 2025, I volunteered at the Toronto site of the 2025 World Health Qigong Day International Live Broadcast. I was put in charge of music controls for the performances.
Over 180 seniors showed up to do Tai Chi. Watching them in action was a fulfilling experience because they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. While they performed, I noticed how unworried and without stress they were, and how unencumbered they seemed with the slow and smooth movements of Tai Chi.
After volunteering for this event, I realised that Tai Chi, along with dance or meditation, can be relaxing and allow people to get exercise at the same time without needing to move fast or perform “crazy” dance moves like the ones in breakdance or rhythmic gymnastics.
I’m really glad I got to be the one handling the music for the performances. It was not only fun but also such a valuable learning experience. Watching others dance and do what they love inspired me to keep exploring my own interests and passions.
